Hunter Fighter Collection (HFC) is thrilled to announce a generous donation from Blickle Wheels and Castors! Blickle recently provided a selection of specialized castors essential for supporting our museum displays and restoration stands, significantly enhancing the functionality and mobility of our historical exhibits.
Chris Serfontein from Blickle Wheels & Castors Australia recently visited HFC at Scone, NSW, to meet our dedicated team and gain a firsthand understanding of the vital restoration projects we have underway. Following his visit, Blickle generously arranged for the donation of additional castor kits, which have been installed on:
- Spitfire X4009 wreckage display case – holding the actual wreckage of Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Ia X4009 along with memorabilia.
- Pat Hughes Rolls-Royce Merlin Engine Display Stand – Providing stability and ease of movement for this powerful piece of aviation history.
- Pat Hughes X4009 Replica Fuselage Mobile Display – Ensuring accessibility as we share the story of this legendary Battle of Britain aircraft with the public.
- Vampire Restoration Stand – Assisting in the careful preservation of this iconic aircraft.
- Various Mobile Stands – Used in multiple aircraft restorations currently in progress.
A particularly special set of castors has been provided for the Supermarine Spitfire X4009 display case, which is currently under construction and soon to be finalized. As many of our followers know, Spitfire X4009 was the aircraft of Flight Lieutenant Paterson Clarence Hughes, an Australian ace and one of “The Few” who heroically defended Britain during the Battle of Britain. This display will honour his legacy and bring his incredible story to life.

Their mission is simple: to develop the best wheel and the best castor for every application. HFC can confidently attest to their exceptional quality, as these castors have already improved the mobility and functionality of our displays and restoration efforts.
Partnering to Preserve History
At HFC, we rely on the generosity of companies like Blickle to continue our mission of preserving and showcasing aviation heritage. As a not-for-profit organization, we receive no ongoing funding and operate solely on grants, donations and sponsorships. Our work not only safeguards historic aircraft but also supports the community, particularly ex-RAAF personnel and first responders, by offering meaningful volunteer opportunities that enhance mental well-being and reduce social isolation.
A huge thank you to Blickle Castors & Wheels for their incredible support! Together, we are making history come alive—one wheel at a time.
