Link Trainer ex RAAF A13-77

A Link Trainer ex RAAF A13-77 has been donated to Hunter Fighter Collection by Australian Air League, City of Blacktown Squadron NSW. She was cleaned up by HFC volunteers  and a plotting table and a chair to complete the display and she will be progressively restored by HFC volunteers with the aim to get it functional once again.

The original Link Trainer was created in 1929 out of the need for a safe way to teach new pilots how to fly by instruments. The term Link Trainer, also known as the “Blue box” and “Pilot Trainer” is commonly used to refer to a series of flight simulators produced between the early 1930s and early 1950s by Link Aviation Devices.

Link Trainer ex RAAF A13-77 is on display at the Hunter Warbirds Aviation Attraction at Scone NSW.
